Police arrest 17-year-old in double-homicide at Westfield Wheaton mall

Montgomery County police charged a 17-year-old Wednesday in the stabbing deaths of two men at the Westfield Wheaton mall.
Angelo Lamont Jackson, of Hawk Run Terrace in Montgomery Village, has been charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree murder, officials said. He allegedly killed Angel Alfredo Pineda-Gomez, 24, of Silver Spring, and another victim whose identity has not been confirmed.
Police were called to mall at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, and found two men suffering from stab wounds. They were taken to hospitals and died.
During the investigation, detectives spoke with witnesses and reviewed mall video surveillance. The video showed a man, armed with a knife, stab a victim, and, while still armed, pursue the second victim, police said.
“Detectives disseminated a still photograph of the suspect to county police officers,” police said in a statement. “Multiple officers were able to identify the suspect as Jackson from having prior contact with him.”
Jackson was being held in jail without bond, officials said.
Police officials initially said that Pineda-Gomez was 22.
